Quantitative Analyst, Market Risk

As a member of a Quantitative Analysis team within Market Risk department, initially, this position will focus on maintaining existing and developing new methods to forecast the firm's operational losses, particularly for the firm's stress testing program (DFAST/CCAR). Later this role will participate in a variety of other quantitative analysis and forecasting projects. This role reports to a Manager, Quantitative Analysis Market Risk.
Develop, test, implement in software and maintain models and methods used for stress testing and forecasting operational losses following the established guidelines and processes.
Apply statistical techniques, such as regression and simulation, for forecasting in accordance with the industry best practices.
Support model risk and audit function in validation of the forecasting models and methods.
Perform internal validation of models developed by team mates.
As required implement statistical algorithms and techniques in software independently
Learn tools and techniques used by Quantitative Analysis team.
Obtain risk management certification (FRM or PRM) within 18 months of employment.
Either a graduate degree in relevant quantitative fields (finance, statistics, economics, etc) or an undergraduate degree with 2 years of relevant experience
Exposure to quantitative finance field through education or work experience
Advanced user level proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, Stata, MATLAB
Solid programming skills, preferably in Java, Python or C/C++
Strong foundation in statistics (or econometrics) and applied mathematics
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in SQL and relational databases
Desire to work in financial services industry
Ability to understand the descriptions of statistical techniques in research papers and to implement them in software

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
