APS-ARTI LLC. (AAJV) is currently recruiting for a Customer Service Center Security Specialist (Security Specialist II) in support of a contract with the Department of State at our Rosslyn, VA location. Position is full-time, exempt. Start date is immediate upon selection and clearance processing finalized.
The Customer Service Center (CSC) is the entity responsible for providing personnel security guidance and assistance to employees and applicants with the Department of State. The CSC operates under the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Office of Personnel Security and Suitability (DS/SI/PSS).
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as a focal point for and professionally represent DS/SI/PSS to human resources specialists, regional security officers, and external audiences.
Establish rapport, develop professional relationships, and interface with counterparts in other Department of State bureaus concerning personnel security.
Ensure all CSC inquires (both telephonically and email) received are responded to within an average of 48 work hours and are fully resolved through customer interaction within 72 work hours; while simultaneously raising problematic issues and promoting greater office efficiency to the attention of the requisite managers responsible for resolving inefficiencies.
Use an automated data processing system and a variety of software packages and programs to accomplish a wide range or clerical, statistical, and data entry/retrieval tasks in support of administrative work, to include but not limited to: creating, deleting, maintaining, and retrieving files, editing and reformatting texts, searching files, transmitting information and generating cumulative statistical, tabular, narrative, and graphic reports.
Working knowledge and experience of applicable federal and internal Department of State personnel security authorities.
Working knowledge and experience of personnel security forms and databases (e.g., SF 86, SF 85P, SF 85P-S, e-QIP, Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Portal, Central Verification System (CVS), etc.).
Assist DS/SI/PSS employees with agency specific databases.
Request access to and removal from department networks and applications on behalf of DS/SI/PSS.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are streamlined to reflect the most up to date processes.
## Position Requirements
Undergraduate degree with three to four years of specialized experience in one of the following areas: counterintelligence, investigations, industrial security, dignitary/IP policy and security standard development, OPSEC, COMSEC, INFOSEC, security countermeasures programs, access system operation and management, personnel protection and protecting classified information, or region desk officer.
Degree not required with four to six years of specialized experience.
Understanding of and experience-based familiarity with the U.S. Federal Government and DOD agencies and their security practices.
Knowledge of IC policies and procedures.
Knowledge of IC database of individuals eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Proficient with Microsoft Word; basic Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Must maintain absolute discretion in the handling of classified information, investigative reports, personnel files and other sensitive matters.
Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
