Epic Cadence Application Analyst II

Purpose and Scope
This position provides technical application support for complex Epic applications, analyzing, evaluating, and troubleshooting and provides high level analysis of multiple applications and/or highly complex applications. The analyst understands and translates the business functionality into the Epic systems configuration and workflow. Plans and prepares Cadence test scripts for application testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing.
Provides Cadence application and technical support for the product line in addition to providing triage and troubleshooting to the product customers. Monitors the systems for data quality, efficiency, operation, and data integrity and appropriately escalates issues/problems. This role provides system analysis, design, development, documentation, and configuration as well as testing and training of the product. The Epic Cadence Applications Analyst provides standardization direction for the product aligning the application version and workflow with current standards.
Under limited supervision, gathers and analyzes user needs for developing and modifying applications in the healthcare environment. Analyzes complex results, proposes solutions and/or recommendations in addition to building, configuring and/or modifying applications using existing application tools. The role also provides complex application support, writes documentation and specifications.
Position Requirements
The Epic Cadence Applications Analyst is responsible for achieving in-depth knowledge of Epic System's Cadence software and serves as a liaison between end users and Epic implementation staff. Conducts regular day-to-day communication with Epic's installation team, reviews the software, analyzes business operations, and works with Epic vendor, project team(s), business representatives, subject matter experts, and end users to tailor the system to fit the organization's needs. The Analyst routinely performs in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues and is responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures that are used in conjunction with Epic applications, and designs, builds, tests, installs and maintains those solutions.
Bachelor's Degree in a health, science, or business field, or an equivalent level of professional experience required
4 years industry related experience in a IS/Clinical setting (Healthcare/Health Services, Information Services) or within applicable area in healthcare operations, with a minimum 3 years progressively responsible experience in information applications, including performing programming or applications analysis, or equivalent. Thorough understanding of hospital inpatient, clinic outpatient operations, and/or financial software (Patient Access) along with understanding the technical environment of product lines for which they are responsible.
2 or more years of experience working on Epic Cadence and configuration with success taking --Cadence from build to 'go live' are highly desirable.
Existing Epic certification in appropriate module(s) is preferred. Epic certification is required within 9 months from hire.
Skills and Knowledge
Advanced understanding in the development and/or maintenance of Electronic Medical Record Systems.
Proficient in all aspects of design, development and testing and best practices of enterprise application implementations.
Knowledge of Epic product suites and the implementation process standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of Epic Cadence, Cadence Build, Epic Scheduling, and other Epic applications sufficient to design, document and develop functional and technical specifications and process standards.
Expert knowledge of client/server and host based systems.
Demonstrated knowledge and skill in developing complex software solutions
Familiar with all phases of testing: unit, assembly, integration and user acceptance tests.
Knowledge of health care operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of information system applications in the practicing health care environment is desired. Thorough understanding of hospital inpatient, clinic outpatient operations.
Proficient in complex troubleshooting and problem solving, performing root cause analysis on development and production support related issues.
Understanding of the technical aspects of applications and integrated tools used to complete the business cycle.
Advanced understanding in the design, development and/or maintenance of Electronic Medical Record systems.
Ability to acquire knowledge through research or self-training where needed for effective implementation.
Ability to identify key business processes to validate and or re-engineer for optimum integration with Epic modules.
Demonstrated ability to apply business analysis tools and plan and manage actions in response to changing business needs.
Ability to provide subject matter expertise in relationship to applications supported.
Ability to independently prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects and/or priorities.
Ability to perform and teach analysis and problem solving principles with emphasis in user relations, data gathering techniques, and management information applications to IT staff is required. Able to teach application functionality, design standards, process changes to the end user community

Ability to teach a project team of analysts, end users and consultants skills required to coordinate daily activities, delegate responsibilities, tasks and review/validate work.

Knowledge of application environments including production, test and interfaces is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design, validate and confirm new or changed functionality with the Epic environment that meets customer specifications. Validates the designing for each application assigned, under the control of the change management process and user development request.
Understand and translate the business functionality into Epic system configuration and workflow validations.
Work with the team leadership to create detailed application designs that conform to application architecture guidelines.
Develop and modify system configurations that meet design requirements.
? Provide complex qualitative and quantitative analysis on data and information collected as part of application requirement gathering.
Analyze system requirements and determine system functional specifications
Prioritize system build efforts.
Performs and coordinates application analysis and impact analysis of new or different applications, processes or changes.
Work closely with business users and application team to design, build and execute a comprehensive integration and user acceptance test plan and scripts. Coordinates development of application testing scripts and conversion plans. Makes recommendations and provide alternatives with regards to various development and support initiatives.
Gather requirements, provide gap analysis and create effective technical solutions for the business needs.
Collaborate with vendors, staff and other analysts to resolve outstanding issue relating to design and workflow challenges.
Conduct most phases of testing: unit/functional, integration and user acceptance tests.
Follow project compliance procedures such as obtaining sign-offs migration to production.
Provide input on required processes and schedule dependencies on the overall project roll-out plan.
Participates and/or leads projects, estimates costs, time frames, staffing requirements and prepares cost justifications for assigned project.
Uses status reports for project oversight.
Responsible for and oversees day-to-day tracking and follow-up on issues and questions of daily operations. Proactively identify impact of changes upon other applications and downstream systems.
Serves as point of contact for resolution of complex application problems.
Provides complex application support and guidance to end users and provides technical guidance to less experienced personnel.
Prepares written documentation of various types; application documentation, functional specifications, training manuals, status reports, etc. Create and maintain all necessary documentation and training materials for application implementation and changes. Prepares and validates complete applications documentation for operations. Evaluates and instructs/teaches others.
Provides input and assists with the development of departmental policies and procedures as they relate to the use of various applications.
Conducts and/or participates in in-service and various educational programs for professional development.
Orients, mentors, and transfers knowledge to other team members.
Provides on-call support on a rotating schedule.
Demonstrated experience and proven expertise in problem-solving and debugging techniques.
Demonstrated ability in specification development, quantitative methods, system documentation and change management.
Proven ability to effectively use vendor-provided and/or other computing tools to tailor systems and applications to meet specifications and user requirements.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficient in the analysis of task requirements, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the development and support of Epic applications. Proficient at specifying user requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards to support business requirements.
Strong problem and issue resolution experience.
Previous project management experience preferred, experience in information technology as a business analyst or systems analyst in a medium to large organization with multiple technology implementations preferred.
Proven communication skills with internal and external installation and support teams, reviewing software upgrades, software testing analysis, analyzing business operations and workflows, and working with vendor and end users to tailor systems to organizational needs. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
On-call support on a rotating schedule.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
