The National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS) is an integrated system of intrusion detection, analytics, intrusion prevention, and information sharing capabilities that are used to defend the Federal Executive Branch's IT infrastructure from cyber threats. NCPS is housed within the Network Security Deployment (NSD) Division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
CSRA provides NSD with operations and maintenance support to sustain NCPS cybersecurity capabilities.
We are currently seeking an experienced Data Storage Engineer with SAN experience Arlington, VA. This position requires the chosen candidate to have an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. This position provides technical expertise in design, development, and deployment of applications software and storage solutions. This position requires a highly motivated, self-reliant team player who is comfortable with managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions
Participates in client/project meeting(s) for highly complex project definition, needs assessment and design review. Evaluates the needs and requirements of the users and provides technical expertise in the development of technical, structural and organizational specifications. Determines appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization.
Designs, develops, and integrates highly complex database systems for internal and external users/clients.
Creates, documents and implements standards and/or complex modeling to monitor and enhance the capacity and performance of the database. Codes complex programs and derives logical processes on technical platforms. Designs user interfaces and business application prototypes.
Performs complex analyses and reviews applications being released into production. Develops and oversees the implementation of test application code in client server environments to ensure that software conforms to build management practices.
Remains abreast of and analyzes new and emerging technologies and tools for applicability to field. Prepares recommendations and presentation to management.
Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Design, plan, and set up applications and storage in a Unix/Linux and Windows SAN environment (disk layout, RAID levels, etc.) to ensure performance and data availability.
Apply required updates and patches and support failover.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the storage area network (SAN).
Integrates multi-vendor solutions utilizing vendor agnostic approach to design and implementing advance storage solutions.
Monitor and tune system to achieve optimum performance levels.
Address support requests for incident resolution, problem determination, and root cause analysis of applications and storage related issues causing outage or performance degradation
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with little management oversight.
Perform replication services and data protection.
Research and make recommendations on new storage technologies, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business administration, software engineering or related field preferred
Nine or more years of database engineering, design, development experience
Experience working with relational data modeling
Experience working with data warehousing
Experience working with relational databases such as SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, etc.
Experience working with database development methodologies, design and implementation
Other Qualifications
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
Strong, demonstrated skills in using a Windows development language, programming or scripting such as VBScript, COM, COM+, XML, Java, Perl, etc.
Strong interpersonal and human relations skills to interact with clients and less experienced personnel
Ability to comprehend and integrate business unit/client needs into appropriate database system
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Unix/Linux system administration.
Strong knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux shell scripting, including PowerShell and Perl.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four or more years of related experience supporting an enterprise SAN solution.
Good knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP, firewall/VLAN configuration, hardware-based load balancing, encryption, and network security best practices.
Experience with configuring SAN environment and implementing NAS protocols.
Experience with applications in a VM and SAN environment.
Demonstrated skills in solving problems and able to work collaboratively within a team or independently.
Strong oral and written communication skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
