Principal Compliance Specialist - Import/Export

BAE Systems, Inc. is searching for a highly motivated and career-driven individual to join the team as a Principal Import Export Analyst in our in the Corporate Legal Department. The location for this position is in Arlington, VA.
BAE Systems, Inc.'s International Trade Compliance function is part of the International Compliance Team in the Corporate Legal Department. The team consists of a Director, International Trade Compliance and two Principal Import Export Analysts (including this open position), and an International Trade Compliance Coordinator, and reports into the VP & Associate General Counsel, International Compliance.
The Principal Import Export Analysts supports the Director, International Trade Compliance with conducting periodic reviews and audits of BAE Systems, Inc. business units, and provide recommendations and guidance to company personnel involved in international trade activities. The ideal individual will also serve as a liaison between the corporate office and the businesses in the conduct of inquires relating to non-compliant international trade activities. The position involves some travel and frequent interaction with business personnel from across the company.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Strong academic qualifications, including a Bachelor's degree
3+ years of prior substantive experience with export controls laws, regulations and licensing; including the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAITAR), the Commerce Export Control Regulations (EAR), OFAC Sanctions, and other U.S. Government international trade legislation and regulation.
Strong writing skills

Ability to obtain a Security Clearance at the Secret Level
Domestic and International Travel (30% of time)
Preferred Skills and Education Masters degree
Prior experience conducting export compliance audits and reviews at a defense or related industry

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
