Buyer - 1886

The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services. Responsibilities include:
Development and negotiation of favorable prices, terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts, ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures.
Vendor selection and negotiation; establish contractual and business relationships, and encourage competition.
Purchase order administration/file maintenance, post-award modifications, closeout for all procurement-related activities and supplier customer management.
Create requests for quotations and solicitations, support proposals, conduct price analyses, and negotiate price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other purchasing provisions.
Confer with suppliers and analyze suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Review quotations and proposals, and select or recommend suppliers based on gathered information.
Assist Subcontracts Administrators with preparation and issuance of standard funding modifications.
May also recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
Other procurement-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree coupled with 2 years procurement experience; OR an Associate's degree coupled with 3 years procurement experience; OR a HS Diploma coupled with 5 years procurement experience.
Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel experience.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of the FAR.
Desired Qualifications:
Deltek CostPoint experience.
Knowledge of Air Force, Army and NASA Supplement Regulations.
Procurement Certification.
CPSR Experience
Aerospace and Aviation Hardware Experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
