Position Description: - 3 years of general financial management and accounting experience- One of of which involved Federal financial statement audits or audit readiness- 4 year degree in accounting- Licensed CPA or eligible to sit for the CPA exam in the state of VA (Bachelors Degree or higher, 120 credits, accounting concentration or equivalent) Required Skills Federal Senior Consultants must have 4 years of required skills in one or more of the following capabilities: Performing financial statement audits and/or auditability assessmentsExperience in reviewing, analyzing, validating, and reconciling financial/accounting informationKnowledge of Federal accounting and transaction process, internal control objectives and generally accepted accounting principlesKnowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and/or OMB Circular A-123 documentation, testing and reporting requirements.Knowledge of risk assessment and/or enterprise risk management conceptsLeading small teams in client engagements and contributing to account strategy and proposal preparation Desired Skills:Strong written and oral communication skillsAbility to be self-motivated and demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skillsAbility to facilitate client meetings and workshops to define client processes and needsAbility to comfortably interact with senior level client personnel, including supporting the preparation of and participating in executive briefingsStrong presentation development and writing skills (e.g., proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word)Consulting experience in support of any of the following financial areas: business process improvement, financial management policies and procedures, financial system integrations, etc.Familiarity with U.S. government financial accounting systemsExperience leading teams towards a common goal and deliverablesIdentify opportunities to improve engagement profitabilityParticipate in and actively support mentoring relationships within practiceCertifications desired include: CPA, CGFM, CFACandidates that possess an active Federal security clearanceAdvanced degree such as a MBAEducation Requirements:BA/BS degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field. Required Work Location and Travel requirements:Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and be open to travel when necessary. US Security Clearance: Selected applicants will undergo a security / background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicants should be eligible to obtain and hold an active U.S. Government Clearance, Secret Clearance preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
