Overall Job Objectives
The Associate Director, Online Fundraising will manage and oversee growth of the online fundraising and engagement program by executing effective strategies and techniques via email, website promotions, and other digital channels. The Associate Director will provide coordinated leadership of digital fundraising and engagement activities, developing and implementing strategies to support fundraising across the organization. Directly reporting to the Director, Direct Response Fundraising.
Principal Responsibilities
Lead digital fundraising and engagement initiatives to acquire, renew and retain WETA members.
Oversee creation and execution of online cultivation, stewardship and engagement communications, as well as direct solicitations.
Develop and manage emails, landing pages, tools and graphics for online fundraising activities, including donation forms, e-commerce store and event management.
Drive email list growth, including acquisition strategies such as digital ads, along with other online engagement opportunities.
Author email, landing page and other digital copy to produce desired fundraising and engagement results.
Collaborate with other members of the Membership department to ensure online activity is managed in coordination with offline fundraising activities, specifically on-air pledge and direct mail/telemarketing solicitations.
Actively produce new fundraising concepts and contribute to the overall online strategic planning for WETA.
Manage online communications calendar and oversee copy and creative development processes for fundraising activities.
Liaise with Digital Media department on management of fundraising tools on website and social media engagement and serve as digital content manager for Membership department.
Liaise with external strategy and software partners to manage execution of online fundraising best practices.
Stay abreast of industry best-practices, within public media, among nonprofits more broadly and in the commercial sector.
Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Knowledge of and proven ability to manage direct response fundraising program efforts, with strong experience in email and digital marketing tools and techniques.
Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement digital fundraising strategies.
Demonstrate strong writing skills to achieve fundraising and donor cultivation goals.
Experience with building and maintaining donation forms, surveys and other user engagement features, and running reports/interpreting audience analytics.
Excellent organizational, project planning, presentation and time management skills with careful attention to detail needed.
Ability to generate and interpret digital tracking and analytic reports, including Google Analytics.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders using diplomacy, tact and discretion.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to successfully perform in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
Demonstrated understanding and application of computer technology to efficiently accomplish work, using Microsoft 365 programs, email, Internet, and database management software.
Competent or better with Photoshop, web design and HTML.
Education and Experience
College degree in marketing, public relations or related field, along with demonstrated effort of continuing fundraising education.
Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising or online marketing. Experience should include online revenue generation and/or online project management.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
