Event Management/Strategic Communications Consultant

Key Role:
Provide planning, management logistics, and protocol services to a Navy client during various events and conferences, including charitable campaign fundraising events, military and civilian award ceremonies, retirements, and morale team building. Review event requests and work with customers to finalize details, consult with customers on policy and protocol for hosting events, determine proper venue and requirements, obtain quotes from vendors, and manage event registration from initial list through tracking and execution. Produce rough drafts of event materials, including ceremonial programs, invitations, invitations, schedules, descriptions, and visitor information about the surrounding area, and manage onsite facility, logistic, and protocol support. Support event execution, including the proper placement of flags, chairs, podiums, and other stage items, readiness of AV or IT assets for presentations, and general monitoring of event progress to either rectify a problem or arrange for additional or different support for speakers and participants. Collect evaluation information during and after the event to provide data to the government for analysis. Leverage an internal lessons learned matrix and gather information during all phases of an event to capture information that will assist the government with analyzing event procedures. Prepare surveys, disseminate the surveys to the charities that participate in charity fairs, and collect the data from the surveys participants in order to capture how the government can conduct these events in a more efficient and effective manner.
Basic Qualifications:
4 years of experience with communication and event planning
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, and Outlook
Ability to obtain a security clearance
BA or BS degree

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
