VPIM Electronic Tech II

Overview:
The VPIM Electronics Technician II performs all aspects of vehicle integration projects. The VPIM Electronics Technician II supports U.S. Department of State VPIM requirements for multiple overseas theaters / potentially high-threat environments. While primarily CONUS assigned, the VPIM Electronics Technician II may be required to travel to OCONUS theaters and rotate between multiple locations within each theater.
Primary Responsibilities:
The VPIM Electronics Technician II will demonstrate and apply knowledge of the integration of ECM, CCR, MVS, and vehicle power and cooling upgrades through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
The VPIM Electronics Technician II will demonstrate proficiency with the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of the U.S. Department of State VPIM program.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provide support to others involved in the VPIM mission.
Education and/or Experience:
Must possess at least three years of technical experience in the technical support for modern ECM systems, and/or CCR systems with the ability to integrate ECM, CCR, and MVS systems, and perform vehicle power and cooling upgrades.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory and principle, and the effects of CREW systems operating in an electronic countermeasures environment.
Experience planning vehicle movements, with vehicles equipped with CREW systems.
Understanding of insurgent Improvised Explosive (IED) emplacement tactics.
Must be able to develop Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures (TTP?s) for deploying vehicles equipped with CREW systems based on the national, local, and immerging Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) threat.
Must demonstrate proficiency with ECM systems used by the U.S. Department of State, including CREW-2 systems.

Security Clearance:
TOP SECRET Clearance Level Required
Must have a current US Government TOP SECRET Personnel Security Clearance
Must have a current US Government Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (less than 4-1/2 years old) or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Single Scope Background Investigation.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain required Security Clearance/access approvals.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must be able to stand, walk and sit for a prolonged period of time; use hands and/or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; operate office equipment; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distant vision. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Medical conditions or physical impediments may disqualify candidates from overseas work where comprehensive medical care may be limited or unavailable, or where the condition or impediment would put the individual at unacceptable risk. Duties may be performed in an active combat zone where the employee would be required to seek shelter. There may be stress, psychological and physical hardships, and the possibility of living in field conditions associated with this position.
Travel:
May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training or maintenance at diplomatic facilities. OCONUS travel may include critical threat locations around the world with austere living conditions. Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.
Work Environment:
Full-time, 40+ hour week while Domestic. Overseas travel is usually under hazardous conditions when deployed in a theater of operations. Personnel meeting the provisions of Department of State Standardized Regulations, Chapter 650 ? Danger Pay Allowance, and performing in a location determined a hazardous duty area are eligible to receive uplift pay over basic compensation.
Living Environment: When deployed overseas lodging, meals, medical and basic life support services will be provided while in a theater of operations, as well as the prevailing per diem rate for incidental expenses (I&E;).
Work Location:
The stateside work location will be in Sterling, VA and DOS Annexes in Arlington and/or Springfield, VA. The location of high-risk environments will be disclosed upon interview.
Medical Clearance:
Must be able to obtain / maintain a DoS Class 1 medical clearance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
