Senior Software Architects

Description:
The Leidos Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group has two exciting openings for Senior Software Architects in our Arlington, VA office.
The successful candidates will architect and develop solutions in an agile and fast paced development environment supporting research, rapid prototyping, and integration of analytic tools in support of intelligence community analysts whose mission is to solve unique and challenging problems.
The successful engineers/developers will be part of a multi-disciplinary research and fusion analytics team and have the unique opportunity to interact directly with research scientists, analysts, and other technologists to develop applications and tools to meet the mission requirements. The data environment and analytic tool / micro-service development span the breadth of quick turn 2-week sprints to multiyear research and development cycles. Individuals must be motivated, self-driven team players who can multi-task and interact well with others and advise/consult with other team members on systems engineering and software development related issues.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- System architecture
- Development and implementation of databases and analytical models.
- Web application development for search and discovery.
- Automatically retrieving, ingesting, and index data.
- Enhancement of existing custom applications.
- Integration of researcher-level algorithms into operational data environments.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
- B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science or related field, and 7+ total years? experience.
- Successful candidates should have a minimum of 4 years? experience in scripting (Perl, Python) with a minimum of 2 years? experience in design and implementation of web application development.
- Successful candidate should also have 7 years (concurrent) experience with high level programming language: C#, C++, Java or Visual Basic.
- Must have an active TS/SCI DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration
- Commercial and/or Government Cloud environments (AWS, C2S, etc.)
- Web development: HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash/Flex, Silverlight, and DHTML.
- Elasticsearch.
- Open source data collection (API, web scraping).
- SQL, Oracle (PL/SQL), or SQL Server (T-SQL).
- Graph Analytics (Orient DB, GraphX, Titan)
- IC analysis tools (e.g., iBase/Analyst?s Notebook, Palantir, etc.).
- Hadoop and MapReduce.
- ESRI products (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server (SDE), etc.).
- Managed attribution systems.
- Geospatial data and the development of geospatially based analytical models.
- Text processing: natural language processing (NLP), named entity recognition (NER), entity disambiguation, entity extraction, part-of-speech (POS) tagging, searching (e.g., Lucene), topic extraction, summarization, clustering, etc.
- Image processing: indexing of metadata, integration of deep learning classification and recognition.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
