Donor Relations Manager, PBS Foundation DEPARTMENT: PBS Foundation STATUS: Regular/Full-Time/Exempt JOB OBJECTIVE: The PBS Foundation, a stand-alone 501(c)(3) organization, seeks extraordinary philanthropic support on behalf of the entire Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). In supporting PBS, the PBS Foundation is responsible for activities such as the identification, cultivation and solicitation of fundraising prospects. These activities also involve donor events, researching prospects, writing proposals, convening board meetings and stewarding donor and funder relationships, gifts and grants. The Donor Relations Manager plays an active role in creating new and stewarding existing donor relationships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Plans and coordinates major gift and estate planning programs to promote deferred giving to the PBS Foundation; assists in completion of gifts involving such vehicles as charitable gift annuities, remainder trusts, insurance policies and tangible property such as real estate, fine art, and jewelry. Identifies and contacts prospects for deferred gifts and provides information concerning gift utilization; coordinates activities with prospect's professional advisor/s to determine most appropriate method of gift planning. Provides stewardship of donors who have already announced a deferred gift commitment. Prepares development proposals and presents development priorities to prospects for deferred and outright gifts. Coordinates gift planning activities in keeping with institutional policies and procedures. Develops marketing strategies for deferred gifts for implementation; prepares and distributes printed material outlining methods of gift planning. Assists in the review and evaluation of proposed policies and procedures; make recommendations for improvements to the program. Performs other related duties incidental to work described here. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three years of Development and fundraising experience, with emphasis upon Gift Planning. At least one year of experience in conducting research using primary and secondary sources of information preferred. At least one year of experience using a fundraising donor management software system, such as The Raiser's Edge, preferred. Experience/familiarity with fundraising tools/approaches, including direct mail, proposal writing, major gifts, and gift planning. Familiarity with public broadcasting is a plus. MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Ability to synthesize and analyze information to present in concise and cohesive manner Must have a can-do attitude and be a willing team player Experience with web-based applications, as well as using the web and online databases for research Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills Ability to write well Strong research capabilities, using a variety of sources Excellent organizational skills Must be able to manage several tasks simultaneously, work well under deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as a team member Must be able to use discretion with confidential business matters Must be able to produce accurate and complete documents in a timely manner Must have excellent listening skills and highly developed sense of responsibility and commitment to customer service Must be able to travel, as needed (less than 5% of time) PBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Women, Protect

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
