Director Insurance Risk Management

As a member of the Global Insurance team this position will provide strategic direction for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of global insurance risk management guidelines, policies and procedures in support of AES Corporation, its strategic business units (SBUs) and businesses in alignment with corporate goals. Job responsibilities include:
Procure and manage master insurance programs for AES and its SBU's, utilizing captives and alternative risk financing as applicable
Identify opportunities to take advantage of AES's global scope and scale to reduce the total cost of risk
Provide global leadership and coordination with the SBUs, businesses, partners, stakeholders, insurers and service providers
Identify significant property, casualty and liability risk exposures and utilize risk management, insurance and other transfer techniques to minimize their impact on the total cost of risk.
Direct the claims management process to ensure that all are settled appropriately, in a timely manner.
Maintain relationships with internal and external people to ensure that all significant risks are identified and managed
Remain current on issues and new products developed within the risk management area to ensure that they are evaluated relative to AES activities
Support and evaluate project development, acquisition and operations activities
Develop and manage construction risk and insurance programs
Review and negotiate insurance contracts and indemnification agreements for necessary changes
Assist in litigation involving insured risk
Provide strong leadership to direct reports in the execution of their duties

Qualifications
The preferred candidate should have at least:
Bachelor's degree.
15+ years experience in all aspects of risk management involving global property and casualty lines of coverage, claims management and self-insurance plans. Multinational corporation experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Experience communicating with C-Suite.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
