Manager, Speaker Outreach and Relations (BUS0100)

POLITICO has experienced rapid growth in all live extensions of our journalism ? be in the 100+ events we host a year or our successful video series to-date. We're looking for a Speaker Manager to help attract to talent to speak at, join in and contribute to all of POLITICO's live journalism. The Manager will work closely with the Director of POLITICO Live Operations and the Directors of POLITICO Events and POLITICO Conferences as well as other editorial and business executives across the company to secure top talent, execute strategies to build POLITICO's brand and increase our global renown among the most powerful people in the world. The ideal candidate has a passion and a deep understanding of talent, connections to speakers and PR specialists and will be able to:
Help concept unique and interesting speakers for live programming;
Book and secure top talent for POLITICO programming;
Develop strategy for continued engagement of top talent with POLITICO programming;
Facilitate planning conversations between talent and POLITICO moderators/reporters
Monitor competitive programs and recommend competitive strategies
Qualifications
3-5 years' experience, preferably in the political media landscape
Bachelor's degree is required
Established relationships with people management
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated initiative, solid judgment and creativity
Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Superior knowledge of MS Office Suite

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
