The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB Corporation is currently seeking a Transportation Drainage Engineer II in our Arlington, VA office.
This position is an excellent opportunity to join our multi-disciplined team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the following:
Participating in the collection and analysis of data;
Performing investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks;
Developing and checking design calculations;
Assisting in the preparation of design drawings and/or specifications;
Developing plans, specifications, and reports as needed to see that these items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice;
Calculating quantities and developing cost estimates.
Working closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Perform analysis and prepare design calculations and drawings
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required, Master's degree a plus
Minimum of 2 years of drainage design experience.
EIT required
Familiarity with VDOT, DDOT drainage design criteria and FHWA hydraulic design manual preferred
Proficiency in Microstation, GeoPak, and InRoads required.
Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and/or HEC-22 preferred
Experience with storm water management
Strong written and oral communications skills are required.

Complete work accurately and in accordance with good engineering codes and practice
Effectively communicate and coordinate with other more experienced engineers
Multi-task and communicate schedule and progress on assigned tasks

Environment and Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
