Senior Auditor

Due to our growth and continued focus on expansion, CLA is seeking Audit Seniors for the Public Sector group in the Washington DC area. Within the Public Sector group, there are multiple industries to grow your experience and advance your career!
Primary Responsibilities
Plan, lead and executing engagements
Perform audit and accounting procedures
Audit complex areas/transactions and prepare financial statements and related reports
Schedule, delegate, and review the staff work
Research, analyze, and report on accounting, auditing, and related issues and developments
Collaborate with Managers/Partners to ensure effective communication and service delivery
Assess, document, validate, and test controls
Supervise and mentor firm staff
Develop and maintain effective client relationships
Requirements?Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field
3+ years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and audits desired
Preferred experience in public accounting and/or professional services firm
Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam desired
Strong written and oral communication skills and professional demeanor
Ability to work independently and with a team (Non profit experience is a plus)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
