Audit Senior - Employee Benefit Plans

We're hiring a Senior Associate in our Arlington,VAor Calverton, MD office to perform a variety of client assignments in our Employee Benefit Plans (EBP) Group.
CLA's EBP professionals help clients across multiple industries stay on top of their responsibilities as plan sponsors and in their fiduciary role while keeping employees' retirement and health benefits safe. We have provided employee benefit plan audit, tax compliance, and consulting services for more than 40 years. Our 30 partners and 300 professionals audit more than 2,200 plans across the country and provide compliance and consulting services for hundreds more.
Job Description
Will continue to gain experience and exposure to a variety of industries and services, with increasing engagement responsibility and opportunity.
Perform a range of audit procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
Prepare financial statements and statistical/account analysis.
Oversee associates and interns to provide work direction.
Frequently interface with client personnel to review and apply accounting and tax principles.
Continually interact with peers and supervisors to gather and prepare information.
Provide support and leverage to the managers, engagement directors, and others on engagements.
Expand technical and professional knowledge through greater exposure to client interactions, regular self-study, and formal training opportunities.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field
3+ years of related experience preferred
Ability to travel to client sites that may also require overnight travel
Prior experience with an established public accounting and/or professional services firm preferred
Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning and organizational skills
Must be detail-oriented and be able to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting concepts involved in auditing
Analytical, yet creative thinking which will enable effective decision making to take place.
Strong organization skills/goal orientation/self-motivation.
Ability to handle pressure in a positive professional manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Engage others through effective communication.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
