Student Intern Monitoring & Evaluation (Unpaid)
Duties:
Assist in drafting and testing M&E survey instruments
Assist in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, particularly as it relates to conducting longitudinal analyses
Translate results into client deliverables, including (but not limited to) data visualization
Compile and enter retrospective baseline and outcome monitoring data, as needed
Assist in the compilation and management of master datasets, as needed
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree candidate or recent graduate
1 year graduate-level statistical expertise
Practical experience using Excel, and either SPSS or other statistical software (Stata, SAS, R, etc)
Practical experience with PowerPoint, Tableau or other presentation/data visualization software
Well-developed writing skills
Capacity and willingness to learn new software, research methods, and work routines quickly, under the mentorship of M&E Team staff
Flexibility in responding to new research opportunities as they arise
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multicultural team
High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation
Ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Desired qualifications:
Advanced-level statistics to include inferential statistics (e.g., factor analysis, imputation, regression, multivariate, time series, etc.)
Experience with survey research and software (multi-mode surveys)
Knowledge of or demonstrated experience with sampling techniques
Knowledge and/or practical experience in longitudinal studies
Interest in and/or experience with primary-data collection
Experience with qualitative analysis and software, including AtlasTi
Experience in evaluation, particularly of international development projects
Experience in the criminal justice system, US and/or internationally

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
