Team Leader, Credit & Collections

The Credit & Collection functional area of the Business Office, is responsible for resolving patient accounts of professional services for Medical Faculty Associates. The Credit & Collection team begins the account resolution process through ensuring the accurate inclusion of patient, clinical and insurance information for claim submission and reimbursement. Subsequent to claim submission, dedicated personnel resume follow up on accounts to confirm appropriate reimbursement is received and realized. Payment is then applied to relevant patient accounts and tied to the general ledger.
The Team Leader, Credit & Collections is responsible for the billing, collection, and resolution of patient account balances to include the development of action plans to resolve delinquent accounts, respond to complaints, conduct quality/quantity reviews, and assist with training/support of Patient Account Representatives, under the direction of the Credit & Collections Manager.
RequirementsQualifications

Education 1-year of college level academic work or equivalent training. College Degree preferred, a combination of training and experience in healthcare, either physician or hospital billing.
Experience 3 to 5 years' experience in cash posting or patient accounting or bookkeeping necessary. Must be computer literate to utilize practice management software, as well as to navigate using Microsoft Office products, file compression and file management software, and web-based programs. Must be familiar with commonly used computer terms (i.e., zipped files, data extraction, upload of files, network drives, etc.)
Competencies Ability to do math calculations, input data into the computer, and analyze data as requested. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
