EPIC Project Director

Purpose and Scope: The EPIC Project Director provides leadership of all aspects of development, implementation, and support of integrated clinical and revenue cycle application system across all the communities that Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) serves. Leads the implementation of Epic (including associated 3rd party applications). Accountable for the success of the adoption of the new technology in operations and sunset of legacy systems; manages all vendors.
The VHC Project Director works with the Epic Project Director, Epic Implementation Coordinator, Champion Chairs, Application Workgroup Leaders, organizational executives and cross-functional teams to:
Facilitating the development of a comprehensive work plan, track timeframes and outcomes/efforts against budget.
Reporting project status to executive leadership.
Facilitating escalation of project-related risks and decisions, and ensuring that decisions are communicated throughout the organization.
Coordinating all onsite work between the Epic Implementation Management team and the VHC project team.
Overseeing the organization of the VHC project team resources into cohesive workgroups and cross-functional teams.
Forming a structured communication plan and executing or delegating key communication tasks as appropriate.
Facilitating the communication within and between all VHC and Epic project teams. Function as the primary VHC contact for the Epic vendor organization.
Reporting project status and progress to the Executive Steering Committee and Project Steering Committee.
Overseeing the identification and resolution of project-related issues, and promoting appropriate escalation of problems and issues towards timely resolutions.
Coordinating planning for facility renovations to support project activities.
Monitoring related projects and assessing impact on the Epic implementation project.
Assuring overall sign-off of project deliverables.
Overseeing the development and maintenance of a detailed project plan.
Chairing project status meetings and preparing monthly status reports.
Chairing Project Steering Committee and various workgroup meetings as necessary.
Corresponding with other related vendors as necessary.
Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, computer science or business required. Master's degree (MBA or MHA) preferred.
Experience: 8 years of progressively more responsible applications and business experience required; 4+ years of experience in a management or director level role preferred. Detailed EPIC applications knowledge as werll as EPIC's implementation methodology. Expert knowledge of healthcare industry and Information Technology experience. Must hasv prior experience implementing Epic Solutions in a large, fast paced delivery environment across all points of care, including ambulatory, in patient and ancillary services.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
