Administrative Secretary

Purpose and Scope:
To provide clerical and administrative support for the Health Information Department managers. The incumbent is responsible for approving payroll, preparing reports, recording and typing meeting minutes, maintaining meeting files, assisting with forms and privacy committees. The incumbent will maintain and access several databases and spreadsheets. The incumbent assists with writing and editing correspondence, articles, and other documents. The incumbent must be able to communicate well and tactfully with patients and other departments. Must be able to handle stressful situations.
I. Position Requirements:
A. Education: Ability to speak, read and write English at a High School Diploma level. College degree preferred.
B. Experience: Computer skills required and 70 wpm typing speed. Computer skills should include a working knowledge of word processing, database, spreadsheets, presentation programs, electronic e-mail communication, and the ability to navigate the internet.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
