Provide expert advice and counsel to L3 Technologies, Inc. businesses units regarding the requirements and obligations of importing products under the U.S. Customs Regulations (19 CFR) and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. Manage company service providers (i.e. Customhouse Brokers) in the various port of entry in their handling of company import declarations to assure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. proper valuation, classification, origin, Special Tariff Treatment Programs, record keeping, quantity, required supporting documentation or declarations). Develop and implement enterprise level operating procedures to ensure appropriate import control levels by company employees in affected functional areas (e.g. Procurement, Manufacturing, product support, Program Management, Finance) and Customhouse Broker agents; reviews process worksheets and broker instructions for accuracy of import entry information being presented to Government regulator(s). Act as official company interface with U.S. Customs on all matters pertaining to the import of products by the Company. Collects and analyzes compliance and performance metrics for purposes of driving process improvements and enhanced controls. May perform compliance audits and develop and conduct training programs to support internal compliance goals.
Direct the development, continuous improvement, and implementation of standardized, global trade processes, policies, procedures, and manuals addressing compliance with import and export compliance laws and regulations. Work with Business Leadership to ensure that other functional groups within the Businesses understand and are fulfilling global trade compliance responsibilities. Manage established US customs program, including reconciliation activities, and periodically obtain and assess import and export transaction data declared to government authorities by importing and exporting Businesses. Identify risks associated with import and export operations, and opportunities for cost-savings and strategic participation in various government initiatives and global trade programs, for both Corporate and Business opportunities. Work with L3 Division trade compliance managers to conduct risk and opportunity analyses at the Division level. Serve on the Trade Control Council and coordinate with other Trade Control and functional leaders to ensure global trade compliance and planning are considered during pertinent business decisions, such as sourcing planning, new product development planning, process development by other functions that impact global trade processes. Serve as the corporate focal for the L3 Global Trade University concentrating on corporate-wide Customs/Traffic compliance for the purpose of providing guidance and ensuring consistent implementation of Trade control processes, and procedures, and to develop global trade goals and metrics.
Licensed U.S. Customs Broker. Bachelor's degree and/or 12-14 years of experience managing Trade Control operations of technical products or similar duration of Trade Control consulting experience with hands-on operational experience. Thorough knowledge of and experience with the U.S. Customs & Border Protection regulations, Export Administration Regulations, Foreign Assets Control Regulations, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to develop internal and external relationships. Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Strong team development and management skills. Excellent business judgment, leadership skills, and strategic thinking.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
