This position supports a single-award IDIQ contract worth over $1 billion.
This contract delivers full lifecycle development and sustainment for the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS).
The NCPS assists more than 100 federal civilian government agencies with the protection of their networks against advanced cyber threats.
Under this contract, Raytheon will support the government in the design, development, operations and maintenance services for the NCPS.
Raytheon will build the mission critical cybersecurity solutions that will enable the timely dissemination of threat warnings and improve information sharing across DHS's stakeholder community.
The position maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and coordinates/supports installation.
The hired candidate will work first shift, but availability to rotate shifts would be helpful.
Role
Responsibilities:
Installation of network and cabling infrastructure, eg Data center environment, including but not limited to PDU's, computers, switches, routers, optics, wireless access points, and other transport equipment Establish Cabling standards Reporting current status via ticketing system, status reports, and email Manages multiple concurrent interdisciplinary projects and ability to work in a team Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain collocation space cleanliness Inventory, track and manage project related materials throughout project lifecycle Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes and industry best practices Provides daily feedback on project progress to Network Manager Manage, check and coordinate all materials to be delivered to site daily Open to all shifts and potential weekend work This is a role where the tech could be pulling the cable, installing, terminating, repairing, and maintaining.
This also involves equipment installation such as network devices and patch panels, building out racks, and troubleshooting existing issues.
Required Skills:
A current Secret clerance with SCI eligibilty.
Must have ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance Must obtain DHS suitability prior to starting employment.
Structured cabling experience Telecoms room Backbone and distribution cabling Environmental factors (Building and power codes) Complete understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of different cabling systems (Wire mapping, Copper/Fiber test equipment, OTDR, Network analyzer, Visual Fault Locator etc.
) Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work Possession of problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s) Thorough understanding of Cat 5e, Cat 6 and OM3/4 - OS2 fiber optic cabling systems, patch panels and wire management systems.
Certify installed cable utilizing industry standards including end to end attenuation testing, OTDR, OLTS, TIA/EIA-526-7, TIA/EIA-526-14 as well as additional standards and methods not mentioned herein.
Create design layout records (DLR) for all installations within a web based environment.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities Ability to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds and move up to 50 pounds Ability to travel as needed Ability to work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors Fiber Tray Installation Running pre-terminated Fiber optic cables Rack & Stack Equipment Pulling, termination, testing, and labeling Desired Skills:
4-5 years' experience with data center structured cabling infrastructure General comprehension of the various components and sub-components of data center infrastructure Ability to read and understand Visio/CAD drawings BICSI Certification preferred Required Education:
Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math with 6 years of related experience.
Professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
This position requires a US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
