Position
Summary:
The Senior Attorney will provide legal advice and direction on very complex matters to various clients, including those involved in Development, Marketing, Corporate Engagement, External Affairs, Finance and conservation functions of the organization.
They will advise clients primarily on philanthropic activities including counsel on structures and restrictions on tax exempt organizations; charitable donations classification and deductibility; state solicitation regulations; charitable gift annuities; professional solicitors and fundraising counsel; consumer protection; unrelated business income tax and private benefit.
Applies highly developed analytical and risk management skills to serve organizational needs efficiently and effectively.
Clearly articulates complex legal concepts and options to Project Managers, other Attorneys, Senior Leaders and the Board of Directors.
Ensures that transactions and activities are legally sound and consistent with the Conservancys mission, authority, policies, and procedures.
Desired Skills & Experience Juris Doctorate or equivalent and license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
Seven (7) years relevant legal experience.
Experience negotiating complex, sensitive or high-profile transactions and agreements.
Experience in additional areas of practice.
Law firmor in-house charity/tax-exempt organization experience.
Law firm or in-house experience advising sophisticated clients and senior management.
Experience developing, directing and managing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals.
Experiencein estate/gift planning.
Experiencemanaging attorneys, paralegals and/or legal support staff.
Working knowledge of current trends in relevant discipline.
Multi-cultural experience appreciated.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
