ATTORNEY ADVISOR (GENERAL)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
You MUST have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD). Note:
You must submit a copy of your transcripts. In addition, at the time of application, you must provide proof, dated within four months of application, of active status with a bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. On-line information is allowed as long as it shows that you are in active status. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
In addition to the above requirement:
you must have professional legal experience in excess of three (3) years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. As well as, recognized as a technical/functional authority within and outside of the organization. Fosters the development of others by providing guidance or sharing expertise. Directs assignments to encourage employee development and cross-functional growth to meet organizational needs. Pursues professional self-development. Leads defines, manages, and integrates efforts of several groups or teams. Assumes and assigns ownership of processes and products, as appropriate. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of applicable substantive federal laws, regulations, and policies. 2. Knowledge of the role and duties of the Government attorney. 3. Ability to apply knowledge of the law to help achieve Air Force policy and programmatic objectives. 4. Skill in various research methodologies, including computer-assisted technologies, and the skill in gathering data and conducting interviews. 5. Knowledge of communication methodologies and staffing processes peculiar to the legal profession, as well as, the knowledge of computer-assisted drafting software, e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc. 6. Ability to communicate complex legal issues and theories effectively orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
