KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

As a KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
In consultation with key stake holders, set KM strategy, priorities, and assist staff in meeting KM goals; promote the KM program and its adoption and use throughout the organization; and monitor KM project progress to ensure that goals and objectives are achieved. Develop guidance and policy on KM practices and technology within the Agency. Policies and guidance pertain to all aspects of KM, including knowledge creation, capture, sharing (collaboration), use, and transfer; distinguish between types of knowledge, and determine how it will be structured, shared, controlled and made easily accessible for staff. Consults with key stake holders on improving processes to drive efficiency and reduce duplication of efforts between the different IT groups, emphasis in new product owner model. Maintains an understanding of technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business area and systems. Collects feedback and measurement data, develops action plans, and drives activities to respond to feedback and usage metrics. You may qualify at the GS-13 if you fulfill the following
Qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Provides Knowledge Management services essential to the Directorate including all matters involving people, process and tool/automation activities. Evaluates the impact of new or revised policies, procedures, or other requirements on the Knowledge management functions of the Directorate. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
