We're looking to expand our engineering teams as we partner with the Capital One Card Tech teams to offer new financial services to our quickly growing small, medium, and enterprise sized clients.
We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help modernize our data ecosystem as we join Capital One's data environment which is realtime/streamed data in AWS.
Responsibilities:
Introduce and leverage leading edge technologies Work on a variety of projects ranging in both size and scope:
manage legacy and greenfield Collaborate within the dev team and cross-team (Product and Biz).
Practice Agile and Continuous Development practices Contribute to the company's best practices knowledge base Take manual tasks and automate them where necessary Help implement realtime data practices using Spark Serve as an SME on our data ecosystem for other units at Capital One Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree At least 5 years of experience in application development At least 1 year of experience with AWS At least 2 years of scripting language experience (Python, Perl, JavaScript, or Shell) At least 2 years of experience with Linux commands Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's Degree 8 years of experience in application development 2 year experience working on streaming data applications (Spark Streaming, Kafka, Kinesis, and Flink) 1 years of experience with Ansible / Terraform 2 years of experience with Agile engineering practices 2 years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra) 2 years of experience developing software solutions to solve complex business problems At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
