Associate Director of Claims in Healthcare Professional Liability Claims and Risk Management in managing and implementing claims programs to assure quality claims services through daily supervision of staff, law firms and other vendors in accordance with company policy as well as to develop claims policies and procedures.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Providing leadership and direction to claims staff, management, and investigation of client files to establish facts, analyze exposure and bring about resolution of claim files.
Recruiting, training and evaluating claims staff in compliance with company policy and goals.
Assisting Claims staff in identification, analysis and assessment of risks and trends in areas of clinical practice.
Establishing management controls to ensure quality of work standards are met.
Supervising and directing actions of law firms and vendors in accordance with company policy.
Conducting investigations, medical records reviews, legal services reviews and negotiation on files resolving cases within the extent of the authority granted.
Ensuring proper and efficient coverage determination and investigation for clients.
Requirements:
10
years of claims management, investigative experience with major MPL carrier or adjusting firm.
Bachelor's degree in healthcare, legal or business-related field.
Advanced degree, MBA or JD preferred.
Managerial or supervisory experience, preferably in service-related field.
Ability to evaluate insurance contracts to make coverage decisions and effectively negotiate high value claims.
Experience investigating and evaluating medical malpractice-related claims, a plus.
Adjuster's and P&C License a plus.
IIA Continuing education courses (AIC, ARM, CPCU, ALCM), a plus.
Must be willing to travel.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
